Questions about the initial situation

We recommend that you do not start your car if at all possible. Starting your engine will circulate the wrong fuel through the car system and this could increase the risk of real damage.

Questions About Damage

This depends on if you’ve put diesel in a petrol engine or petrol in a diesel engine, but either way you could be looking at thousands of pounds’ worth of damage if you keep driving the vehicle.

If the engine has already been started there could be damage caused – call us if you need more information and we will be able to provide assistance. Questions about Warranty

In short, no. Unfortunately, putting the wrong fuel in your car isn’t covered as standard on AA or RAC or other breakdown services. You may be covered for them to tow your car to the nearest garage and have them drain the tank at your expense. Here at Auto Fuel Assist we’ll come straight to you and drain your car on site, saving you time, money and a trip to the garage.
Misfuelling is not covered on manufactures warranty and can cost thousands of pounds for them to repair.
